The one big thing that stands out to me in all of these graphs is just how ridiculous Evgeni Malkin was, offensively, in 2012. A total beast of a season. Dude managed to make James Neal look like a 40 goal scorer.

As for Perry: the main reason he won in 2011 was due to his goal scoring rampage that season. His analytics are subpar compared to the other MVPS, but his goal generation was impressive and helped the Ducks get into the playoffs for sure.

From what it looks like here: the most deserving Hart winners in the analytics era are Sedin (2010), McDavid (2017) and Ovechkin (2008) while the least are Perry and Kucherov.
